Fans have been eager to see Marvel's Agents of SHIELD continue in some new setting ever since it came to an end in 2020. One popular theory holds that Chloe Bennet may appear in Marvel's upcoming Secret Invasion as Daisy Johnson/Quake (the fan-favorite superhero she played throughout the course of the series).

Bennet's potential return to the MCU has been a topic of discussion among Agents of SHIELD fans. However, the actress has some disappointing news for ‌fans. The 31-year-old actress has now denied rumors that she will be making any more Marvel appearances, despite widespread speculation to the contrary.

About a year ago, rumors of her return for Marvel's Phase 5 first surfaced, but the actress quickly shot them down and claimed she had not spoken to Marvel about anything. The Valley Girl actress was said to be quite excited to play the hacker-turned-superhero (Daisy Johnson/Quake) again.

Agents of SHIELD ‌aired on ABC for seven seasons between 2013 and 2020. And during that time, several adored characters in the well-known Marvel series were introduced. The most notable of them was Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, played by Chloe Bennet. She began the series as a simple hacker before developing into a superhuman agent for the covert agency ‘SHIELD’.

It's widely believed among fans that Bennet's Quake will appear in Secret Invasion on Disney+, despite Agents of SHIELD‘s ambiguous relationship with the MCU.

But the 31-year-old MCU actress has denied rumors that she might work again with Marvel on Secret Invasion or any other MCU project in an interview with ScreenRant. When asked if she would be interested in playing the same part, Bennet replied:

"Of course, I would be open to it. Listen, there's a lot of stuff around that. I so deeply love SHIELD's fans because it's this tenacity that got the show on air, to begin with. I have not once been approached or asked or involved in anything after I wrapped ‘SHIELD’ And I am not involved in anything that is coming out."

The Dave actress added that even though she hasn't been asked, she would be "more than excited to put on the suit again." To quote Bennet:

"I’ve not been asked, but I would be more than excited to put on the suit again. And, of course, of course, Daisy is a big part of who I am. So I would love to, but I have not been communicated [with] about it."

A portion of the cast for Marvel's Secret Invasion on Disney+ had already been revealed, including GoT fame Emilia Clarke. Nick Fury will once again be played by Samuel L. Jackson.

Of course, seeing Chloe Bennet's return to the Marvel universe would have been nice. The actress even admitted that she felt terrible for raising her fans’ expectations. However, Marvel is going through some interesting changes right now, so things are a little dicey for the time being.

It appears highly improbable, that her character Daisy Johnson/ Quake would appear in Secret Invasion.

But the Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen a lot more unexpected events, and considering Daisy Johnson's significant role in the original Secret Invasion comic arc, there may still be room for her in the live-action version.

Marvel's Secret Invasion is set to debut on June 21 on Disney+.
