Dwayne Johnson was surely an integral part of the Fast & Furious franchise, bringing his charismatic presence and larger-than-life persona to the action-packed films. Joining the franchise in 2011 with Fast Five, Johnson portrayed the character of Luke Hobbs, a relentless and formidable government agent. With his impressive physicality and undeniable charm, Johnson injected fresh energy into the series, captivating audiences with his on-screen charisma. Over the years, he has become a fan favorite, delivering thrilling performances and elevating the intensity of the Fast & Furious films.

The Rock's feud with Vin Diesel is a well-known fact. The Red Notice star made his problems with Diesel public through his Instagram. This feud resulted in the exit of Johnson and his character, Luke Hobbs, from the franchise. Yet this was not a dead end for them, the Black Adam star came back with his spin-off film, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. The spin-off was loved by the fans but was not much appreciated by Johnson's Fast & Furious co-stars. Tyrese Gibson was much offended by the spin-off film as it delayed the release of F9.

The feud between Fast & Furious co-stars Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson garnered significant attention. The primary reason for their feud was the delay in the release of F9. Gibson seemed to be frustrated with this delay in the release of the ninth installment of the franchise and took to his Instagram to express his views on it. The Black and Blue star stated that he wouldn't work in the franchise if The Rock was involved in it.

"Hello, world………. hello loyal fans and loved ones from OUR fast universe…….. I’m sorry to announce that if Dewayne is in Fast9 there will no more Roman Peirce – You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours……… close your eyes dude you’re a ‘Clown’…… #CandyAssBitchMade All my real one… Men on integrity… my real ones out here stand UP…… folks that GP to the gym and get big naturally #NoJuice #NoOJ spin off huh? It goes without saying that all these comments didn't stop Dwayne Johnson from making the Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Not only this, The Rock refused to be part of any feud and made it clear that his only reason for making the spin-off film was to present something interesting and engaging to fans.

"But in the process of elevating the franchise, I have always thought that in order for this to have real longevity and legs, we should spin out and create characters that can live on their own. At the end of the day, the only thing I want to do is make a great movie for the fans. I never ever get wrapped up in the sludge of the bulls— that can be connected at times to a franchise. So I never get dragged into it. I never respond to any of that."

Though the fact that Johnson never joined back the franchise has surely helped Gibson to keep working on it and impress the audiences with his performance as Roman Pearce. The Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw became successful as the film and was the last time when The Rock portrayed the fan-favorite character of Luke Hobbs.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is available on platforms like Apple TV.
