NBA Twitter reacts to 76ers beating Bulls despite Joel Embiid’s injury
The Philadelphia 76ers picked up a rather easy 116-91 win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night to begin a four-game road trip. They jumped to a 23-1 lead as they had the right mindset entering the contest. The Bulls couldn't match up, and Philadelphia led by as many as 31.
De’Anthony Melton had a huge night, leading the Sixers with 25 points and three steals. Tyrese Maxey had 21 points, five rebounds and four assists. Tobias Harris had 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. On the other end, the Sixers held the Bulls to 6-for-25 shooting from deep.
However, the story afterward was the health of Joel Embiid. The big fella didn't play in the second half due to what ended up being right mild calf tightness. He had 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in 16 minutes. Coach Doc Rivers said they expect him to play on Friday when the Sixers take on the Golden State Warriors.
NBA Twitter gave its best reactions to the night for the Sixers:
Joel Embiid was seen holding his leg with 2:22 left in first quarter but he played in second quarter

Sixers beat the Bulls 116-91 in Chicago.
Joel Embiid stayed in the locker room for the second half with "Mild right calf tightness".
First it was reported it was due to the score.

Mild right calf tightness for Joel Embiid, who is expected to play Friday in Golden State. Embiid did not appear for the entire second half.
The Sixers beat Chicago, 116-91 (I have no idea why I mess up the score every time). They are are 49-23.

Lost in the craziness: another awesome De'Anthony Melton game tonight. Now has 13 threes and 14 steals across his last four. Whatever funk he was in earlier this year, he's way out of it.

When Joel Embiid sees the extra body, he's getting off it quick
I think playing more with Tyrese Maxey is not only adding their best player off the catch, but just more reassurance to Embiid and his game pic.twitter.com/RhDNsmBOY4

7 makes on 8 attempts from the foul line were both season-highs for Tobias Harris, who enjoyed the increased responsibility and delivered on the opportunity with Harden out (and Embiid exiting after halftime). 8 assists were 1 shy of a season-high.
